Apartment quote expiration: keep the offer and your decision timeline aligned
Published by Apartments Texas · Updated
Record what the quote covers, when it expires and what still needs confirmation before you pay.
Identify the offer precisely
Save the unit or floor plan, lease term, move-in date, price basis, mandatory charges and concession conditions. Record who supplied the quote and the stated expiration. A screenshot of rent without its conditions is not a complete offer record.
Ask whether the quote reserves anything or merely states a price subject to availability. Do not treat a quote as a unit hold unless that is explicitly agreed.
Resolve missing information before the deadline
Make a short list of unanswered questions: actual-unit condition, full charges, criteria or possession date. Ask whether the offer can be extended while you review, but do not assume that asking pauses its expiration.
If the quote changes, request the new version rather than adding old and new numbers together. Keep the prior one in your records so you can explain the difference.
Recheck before paying or signing
Compare the final application and lease documents against the offer you intend to accept. Confirm that the recipient and payment route are legitimate and that you understand the purpose and refund terms of any payment.
If the deadline arrives before a material question is answered, pause rather than filling the gap with a favorable assumption. This guide does not determine whether a particular quote is legally binding; it helps you avoid acting on an incomplete version.
